Project Summary

MVI supplied Protected Species Observers (PSOs) for vessel strike avoidance and exclusion zone monitoring during geophysical site characterization surveys in Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Lease areas OCS-A 0486 and OCS-A 0517 for the South Fork Wind and Revolution Wind projects. Comprehensive geo-referenced data was collected using Mysticetus reporting software. MVI provided personnel, equipment, and logistics for offshore operations aboard the OSV Deep Helder and nearshore operations aboard the RV Dolphin. Daily protected species summary reports were provided to the client, detailing all detections of protected species and any shutdowns that were necessary, and how they impacted operations. A fully compliant yearly summary report and final summary report were delivered to the client and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)/BOEM.
