MVI supplied visual and passive acoustic monitoring personnel and equipment for a seismic survey in the OML 70 block offshore Nigeria. The survey utilized multiple geophysical sound sources, some of which required mitigation protocols for protected species. MVI ensured that the Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) equipment and monitoring personnel were mobilized on schedule to the vessel mobilization port in Nigeria. PAM operators installed the acoustic monitoring equipment safely and consulted with the vessel survey crew to ensure there was no obstruction or conflict with the survey gear that needed to be deployed from the back deck. MVI’s Protected Species Observers (PSOs) and PAM operators conducted 24/7 monitoring throughout the survey and provided daily summary reports to the client. A final summary report was also delivered upon the project’s conclusion.
