MVI provided qualified sea turtle monitors to perform daytime and nighttime beach surveys during dredged material placement operations. Monitors conducted morning beach surveys starting at dawn. Data on any detected turtles or nests were recorded and reported to the client and regulators. Nests detected within the placement area were marked and relocated if needed prior to the start of operations at 9 am. When nighttime operations were required, monitors were present to escort construction equipment and monitor the area continuously throughout the operation. MVI worked closely with the turtle monitors and the designated state regulatory contacts to ensure full compliance with reporting and nest relocation protocols.
