In support of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for three areas in the Garden Banks block, MVI provided protected species observer personnel and acoustic monitoring equipment to collect detailed environmental baseline survey (EBS) data. The Protected Species Observers (PSOs) and Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) operators worked aboard a research vessel collecting benthic samples, as well as other biological samples such as plankton tows. All personnel provided were highly experienced and trained to identify a wide range of marine fauna and avifauna both acoustically and visually. Comprehensive reporting was provided to the client along with all field data collected.
