MVI was contracted by Apache Suriname 58 Corporation, LDC (Apache) for the provision of visual and acoustic protected species monitoring and mitigation services, in support of an exploratory drilling campaign in Block 53 offshore Suriname. Two observer personnel and a fully redundant Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) system were supplied in a timely manner to the client. The PAM system supplied was tailored to the specific operational requirements.
An experienced PAM technician was provided for the installation and operation of the PAM hardware and software. Acoustic detections were interpreted in real time by the technician, and mitigation actions were taken as necessary. A final summary report of all visual and acoustic monitoring efforts and results was provided to the client and regulators.
