Project Summary

MVI provided three teams of Protected Species Observers (PSOs) aboard three vessels for two phases of the geotechnical and geophysical site investigation surveys in the Beacon Wind lease area (originally held by Equinor and subsequently transferred to BP). Operations required up to 16 observers and passive acoustic monitor personnel at a time, and included nearshore operations in New York state waters, which involved additional reporting requirements. Visual monitoring was conducted during daylight and nighttime operations throughout all phases of the project.

Alternative monitoring methods, including night vision devices, mounted infrared cameras, and passive acoustic monitoring systems, were also utilized during nighttime and reduced visibility events. All personnel, hardware, and reporting deliverables were provided seamlessly, maintaining the client’s operational schedule without delay.
