MVI supplied three Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC)-approved manatee and sea turtle observers to the client in support of continuous daylight pile driving operations. The observers conducted pre-clearance monitoring 30 minutes prior to each pile driving event, as well as 30 minutes following the completion of each pile. Observers advised the operators of any sea turtles or manatees in the project area and called for shutdowns or delays when necessary. Any mitigation actions conducted were recorded in detail and provided to the client daily. A full summary of all observation efforts and mitigation actions taken was provided to the client for submission to regulators upon the project’s conclusion.
