Bluefield Geoservices US, Inc. contracted MVI to provide protected species monitoring and mitigation services for geotechnical investigations at the Ørsted South Fork Wind 01 and ECR sites in Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) lease area OCS-A 0517. Protected Species Observers (PSOs) provided vessel strike avoidance monitoring throughout operations, including during reduced visibility conditions, using alternative monitoring technologies such as night vision devices.
Mysticetus reporting software was used to provide comprehensive georeferenced data on operational efforts and detections of protected species. A detailed final report was delivered to the end client, which was compliant with BOEM and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) regulations.
